Begin the Enrollment Process for Dallas Community School

At Dallas Community School (DCS), we do education differently. We believe in student agency, parent choice, and hands-on, project-based learning that sparks curiosity and prepares students for the real world. If you're looking for an innovative, tuition-free educational experience, now is the time to enroll!

We offer two dynamic programs designed to ENGAGE, EMPOWER, and EQUIP students for success:

K-8 Program: A flexible home-learning model that blends structured learning, in-person classes, field trips, and hands-on teacher support for families.
High School Program: An in-person, project-based learning experience that challenges students to take ownership of their education and prepare for college, careers, and beyond.

How to Begin Enrollment for Our K–8 Program

We welcome new students year-round, but we currently have a waitlist. Enrollment follows Oregon’s lottery process (ORS 338.125) as our capacity is reached.

Create Your Absorb Account: Create an Absorb account and watch four videos (about 20 minutes each). Each video is a deep dive into our model.

Complete Absorb Videos: After watching the video series, you will receive an email to complete the next steps:
- A link to fill out our required Interest Form
- A link to schedule a meeting with our K-8 Assistant Director.
Pre-Register: After your meeting, our registrar will email you a link to pre-register. Once submitted, they will guide you through the final steps to secure your student’s spot on the waitlist.

Lottery

At Dallas Community School, we follow Oregon law when our programs reach capacity. When there are more applicants than available spaces, we run a public enrollment lottery to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Our lottery follows the requirements in Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 338.125 and ORS 338.120, which outline how charter schools must manage admissions when demand exceeds available spots. These laws require a random, equitable lottery and allow schools to give priority to currently enrolled students and their siblings.

If your student is not selected during the lottery, they will be placed on our waitlist in the order drawn. Families will be contacted as openings become available.

Our next lottery will be ran on May 3rd 2027

Families will receive an email from our registrar if they were accepted or put on a waitlist.

We use the waitlist if spots open throughout the year.
